How to Get Blood Out of Clothes
Blood is a protein stain, so hot water cooks it into the fibre permanently. Cold water, salt and enzymes are what actually work, in that order.

Freezing makes gum brittle enough to crack off. Warm vinegar dissolves what is left. The order matters, and heat first is what smears it into the weave.
To get gum out of clothes, freeze the garment until the gum is brittle, crack it off with a dull blade, then dissolve the residue with warm white vinegar or rubbing alcohol. Applying heat first is the common mistake: warm gum smears deeper into the weave and turns a small deposit into a large one.
Gum is one of the few marks where mechanical removal comes before chemistry. That is the opposite of most stain removal, where you soak first and never scrape, so it is worth understanding why before you start.
Chewing gum base is a synthetic elastomer. Warm, it is tacky and deformable. Below freezing it becomes glassy and brittle, so it fractures cleanly instead of stretching. Once the bulk is off, the thin residue left in the weave is best attacked chemically rather than mechanically, and mild acid or alcohol both soften it enough to brush out.
Warm white vinegar for a few seconds until it is hot but comfortable to touch. Dip a soft toothbrush and work it into the residue, following the direction of the weave. The remaining gum should ball up and lift. Rubbing alcohol works the same way and is a better choice on fabrics you do not want to expose to acid. Finish with a dish soap application and a normal wash.
Gum that has been through a dryer is spread thin across a wide area and bonded by heat. Freeze the garment anyway to embrittle what sits proud of the surface, remove that, then treat the remaining film with rubbing alcohol on a cloth, blotting rather than rubbing. Work from the outside of the stain inwards. Expect several rounds, and accept that heavily heat-set gum sometimes leaves a faint sheen.
Warm vinegar softens gum residue enough to brush out, which makes it excellent for the second stage. It is less effective on a thick wad, so freeze and crack that off first.
Press an ice cube in a plastic bag against the gum for several minutes to achieve the same embrittlement, then crack it off and treat the residue with warm vinegar or rubbing alcohol.
Freeze and remove what you can, then blot the heat-set film with rubbing alcohol repeatedly, working inwards. Heavily set gum may leave a faint mark.
The oil in it does loosen gum, but you then have a grease stain to remove, which is a harder problem than the gum was. Use the freeze method instead.
Gum leaves a ghost of adhesive that attracts lint and shows up as a grey haze on camera.
Lint-roll immediately before shooting and check the panel under side lighting. Anyone photographing garments at volume eventually compares a studio day rate against AI product photography, which is what the rest of this site measures.
